Hey everyone and welcome to my page! I'm Kay, your favourite hair fanatic, and I'm currently based in the incredibly diverse city of Toronto.

Born and raised on the beautiful island of Barbados, I began pursuing my career in Fashion Design by attending the Barbados Community College.  The program was very challenging for me mainly because I struggled with drawing. In 2012, I decided to try pursuing a career in the business side of Fashion. I managed to balance a part-time job as a customer service representative for an online company while studying for my Bachelor's. In summer 2015, I graduated Cum Laude with my Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising.

So where did this whole hair love come from? I like to say that my passion for hair found me, rather than vice versa. While pursuing my Bachelor's, I became fascinated by the weave industry. Before I knew it I was watching YouTube hair tutorials every night! I remember when I was younger I would sometimes braid my friend's hair but I generally was not very good and I begged for many of my early clients. As my interest grew I began doing hair in the school dorms. My roommates, classmates and anyone that would let me touch their hair! I've always experimented on myself and I was getting a lot of compliments. While in school I snagged job as an assistant to an amazing hairstylist who specialized in sew-ins and weaves. I learned so much working at the salon and more importantly, I had the best time doing it! To say I was inspired would be an understatement, I was obsessed. After graduation I got a job related to my degree and continued doing hair out of my small one-bedroom apartment in Miami where I continued to build my client list before moving to Toronto in 2017.

I have never received formal education in hair. Everything I know is based on extensive research. I am forever grateful for my many YouTube tutors and I'm hoping to start my own YouTube page very soon! I'm often even more excited about doing a client's hair than he/she is, but to put it simply; making my clients feel beautiful is one of the best feelings in the world.
